Extended Circle Criterion: Stable Fuzzy Control of a Milling Process
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this work, the Extended Circle Criterion and fuzzy approaches are combined to develop a practical technique for checking stability of Fuzzy Control Systems (FCS). The controller is designed on the basis of skilled operator criteria and engineering knowledge about the process. Afterwards, stability is verified by means of the so-called Extended Circle Criterion, under the assumption that the static characteristic of the controller is sector-bounded (nonlinear portion) and the process (linear portion) can be rendered Strictly Positive Real (SPR). The method is tested in a FCS applied to the milling process. Theoretical and experimental results show that the closed loop system is stable. Copyright 2002 IFAC

Determination of Gain and Phase Margins in Lur’e Nonlinear Systems using Extended Circle Criterion
Nonlinearity is one of the main behaviors of systems in the real world. Therefore, it seems necessary to introduce a method to determine the stability margin of these systems. Although the gain and phase margins are established criteria for the analysis of linear systems, finding a specific way to determine the true value of these margins in nonlinear systems in general is an ongoing research i...
متن کاملFeedrate optimization for ball-end milling of sculptured surfaces using fuzzy logic controller
Optimization of cutting parameters important in precision machining in regards to efficiency and surface integrity of the machined part. Usually productivity and precision in machining is limited by the forces emanating from the cutting process. Due to the inherent varying nature of the workpiece in terms of geometry and material composition, the peak cutting forces vary from point to point dur...
متن کاملStability Analysis of a Type of T-S Fuzzy Control Systems Using Off-Axis Circle Criterion
In this paper, based on the off-axis circle criterion, a sufficient condition with a simple graphical explanation is derived to analyze the global asymptotic stability of a type of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy control systems in case of different constant reference inputs. Three numerical examples are given to demonstrate how to use the proposed method in analyzing the T-S fuzzy control systems.

متن کاملDecentralized Guaranteed Cost Control for Large-Scale T-S Fuzzy Systems
This paper studies the guaranteed cost control issues for the large-scale systems which are composed of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy subsystems with interconnections. A cost function is considered as the performance index for the system. By Lyapunov stability criterion and the parallel distributed compensation (PDC), some sufficient conditions are derived such that the large-scale fuzzy system is ...
